Motherhood!

I love being a Mom, even though let's face it some days it's like a roller coaster ups and downs with a few sharp curves, that awesome feeling of slowly getting to the top only to plummet to the bottom while you stomach is in your throat! If you think motherhood is great all the time and you have the greatest kids who never act bad all I have to say is "come back to us, your living in La La land"!

My two have very different personality's! Aiden is a very rambunctious two year old, and I know your thinking what two year old isn't! Our Aiden is over the top! You know that one kid during Sacrament service at Church that is always acting up and the Mom has to take him out every Sunday? Yup that's my Aiden, he has a very strong personality and I love that about it. Now I don't like having to take him out, and pulling my hair out some day's thinking what can I do to get through to this kid. Time-out doesn't work, getting mad doesn't work, the mom voice please he just laughs at me! But then he will do something so sweet and cute that I'm like yeah I can do this! The other day while his Aunt Johnnie was watching him he decided he was going to go take a toy from his little sister, he was told "no you have to share" so he frowned and sat there looking at her and the toy for about 15-20 seconds and then took it. His Aunt Johnnie said "no Aiden you have to share" his response "I did!" How do you argue with that logic? He shared, for 15 seconds!

So when I think things are tough I can't even imagine what thing will be like 7 months from now when I give birth to #3 and have 3 kid's under 4! Oh the joy's of Motherhood!

But it is all worth it, just like everyone say's the whole cliche of labor is soo hard but once you hold your baby it is worth it. It really is! I think of the moments when Aiden is sweet to his little sister Alaina and gives her one of his cookies or kisses her goodnight, or when she takes a few steps and he starts clapping saying "yeah sissy".

I keep thinking I can't wait until they are older and I don't have to do everything for them. But then I come to the realization that when Aiden comes home with a hole in his nose, his hair dyed black, his t-shirt sleeves ripped off, and drum sticks in his back pocket then realizing he truly is his son's father, I will be wishing for my sweet little two year old back!

So bring on the roller coaster I have alot of years of sharp turns, but I can deal with those, as long as I have some of the awesome feeling's of getting to the top!

  1. As someone not yet willing to dive in with both feet and have kids, this was great. You're a great mom. We joke that we are going to make our kids do push ups. :)
